Obituary of Anastasie Cartier

CARTIER: Anastasie “Anne” A resident of Chatham, and formerly of Pain Court, Anne Cartier died peacefully at Meadowpark Nursing Home on Sunday December 28, 2008 at the age of 84. Born in Pain Court, daughter of the late Joseph & Delia (King) Demars. Beloved wife of the late William Joseph Cartier (1988) Loving mother of Carol Ann Cartier of Chatham, Lawrence Cartier of Chatham, Rochelle Cartier & Jack Agema of Parry Sound, and Jerome & Ann Marie Cartier of Pain Court. Cherished grandmother of Christine & Dan Maure of British Columbia, Ron Metcalfe & Lori Timpson of Thamesville, Jan Metcalfe & Ken MacEachern of Chatham, Derek & Dayna Cartier of St. Thomas, Matthew Cartier of Chatham, William Cartier of Chatham, Jacob Cartier & Connor Cartier, both of Pain Court. Great grandmother of Hiliary, Abbie, and Ellie. Anne was the last surviving member of her family. She is predeceased by her brothers Henry, Edgar, Wilfred, Zacharie, Bernard, and Eusebe; and sisters Florida, Claudia, Evelina, Celeste, and Veronica. She will be fondly remembered by numerous niece and nephews, and their families. Also predeceased by her husband Alcide Marchand (1995). Anne worked as a security guard at Public General Hospital in Chatham for many years. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday 2:00-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculée Conception Church, Pain Court on Wednesday December 31 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
