BARCLAY (nee Starck): Liselotte (Lis) Benita was born 83 years ago in Wenden, Latvia, growing up in Riga, Latvia. She passed away on January 8, 2009. Beloved wife of the late Harry Barclay who predeceased in 1991. Loving mother of two daughters Rae Barclay of Chatham and Samaya Ryane of Vancouver. Proud grandmother of Jesse Orion Smith and his wife Erin Smith (great-grandmother of their son Cieran Jack Smith ) and Celeste Ryane and partner Blaise Beckjord (and great-grandmother of their sons Harlow and Mateo). Daughter of the late Alexander Starck and the late Sonya (nee Ernston). An active member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Ladies Guild and the Canadian Baltic Aid Society. Retired from CIBC. Survived by brother Robert Starck and wife Lolita of Germany, brother Horst Treulieb and wife Carol of Sarnia, two sisters Heidi and Don Woodbridge of Harrow and Barbara Harris of Ottawa. Three sisters-in-law, Karin Morrow and husband Vic of Mississauga, Hedy Sand and husband Tim of Hamilton, Mich., Ellen Venney of Windsor, Ont. and Laurie Seeseman and husband Helmut of Oakville, and several nieces and nephews. The family of Mrs. Barclay will receive friends at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 445 McNaughton Avenue West, Chatham from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2009. Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Arthur Schiemann officiating. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery. Donations to Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church Building Fund or the charity of choice would be appreciated.
