Obituary of Richard 'Dick' Heemsbergen

Heemsbergen: Richard ‘Dick’ A resident of Chatham, Dick Heemsbergen passed away peacefully at Maple City Residence on January 10, 2009 at the age of 77. Born in St. Boniface, Manitoba, son of the late Ryk & Johanna (Whein). Loving husband of the late Betty (Hoyles) Heemsbergen. Dear father to Ric Heemsbergen and his wife Cheryl of Chatham. Proud grandfather to Krysten. Dick will also be remembered by his nieces and nephews- Brenda Kells, Terry Pogochar, Jodi Morrison and Michael Fox. Predeceased by his sister Annie Palmer. Dick was a transport driver and spent most of his career with Direct Transport before retiring from C.T.L. in 1992. He was an active member of the Maple City Centre for Older Adults. Dick was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00p.m. Funeral service to be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. James E. Brown officiating. Cremation with interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
