Obituary of Charles E. Lindsay

LINDSAY: Charles E. A resident of Blenheim, Charles E. Lindsay passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Friday, January 16, 2009 at the age of 71. Born in Blenheim, son of the late Samuel and Salina (Harris) Lindsay. Beloved husband of Madlin (Hansen) Lindsay for 47 years. Dear father of Garry Lindsay and Nellie Veens of Forest, Charles Lawrence Lindsay of Estevan, Saskatchewan, and Candace L. Lindsay and her husband Jeff Dunlop of Blenheim. Grandfather of Nicolas, Veronica, Parker, Mason, Ian, Kyle, Craig, and Paige. Brother of Vanessa Devine of Ridgetown, Mabel Brown of Ridgetown, Louella Turner of Blenheim, Salina Dauphin of Blenheim, and the late Byron, Pat, Brick, Dave, Bill, Valetti, and Sam. Brother-in-law of Carol Lindsay of Blenheim. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Charles served in the Royal Canadian Air Force and was stationed at Loring Air Force Base in Chatham, New Brunswick for 4 years. He was employed by Resistance Welding Products, Blenheim for over 35 years and was also a member of the Blenheim Fire Department for over 35 years. He was a life member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #185, Blenheim and had been in charge of the Colour Guard for many years. Charles was also a member of Blenheim Baptist Church. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Sunday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Royal Canadian Legion Branch #185 will conduct a Legion Service at the Funeral Home on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Bill Terris officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations in honour of Charles to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society, or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
