Obituary of Wilson Harris Kerr

Kerr: Wilson Harris A resident of Chatham, Wilson Harris passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Friday January 16, 2009 at the age of 83. Born in Wallaceburg, son of the late William and Olive (Harris) Kerr. Loving husband of 35 years to Angela Kerr (nee Hoy). Dear father to Ronald & Karen Kerr of Wallaceburg; Shirley & Lawrie (Kerr) Carter of Waterloo and Nancy & Dale (Kerr) Drew of London. Proud grandfather to Jeff Carter, Hannah Carter, Eric and Melyssa Kerr, Christine and Jason MacDonald, Ian Kerr, Erin Kerr, Rebekah Drew, Kyle Drew, Richard Drew and great-grandfather to Owen Wesley MacDonald. Survived by his brother Donald Kerr of Edmonton. Predeceased by his sister Della Warner. Wilson will be dearly missed by his many brother’s and sister’s in-law, especially John and Dorothy Hoy, Bernard & Joan Hoy and Loretta Hoy. Wilson is the founder and former owner of Battery Boy on Park Ave. E. and was the owner and operator of Kerr Solar Systems. Wilson's dedication to his community will be missed. As a member of the Kent Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society, Evangel Community Church, Loads of Love, The Kent Historical Society, Maple City Centre for Older Adults, Tri-County Square Dance Club, his memory will live on through his contribution to the advancement of these organizations. As a genealogist, Wilson studied genealogy extensively and enjoyed giving courses and teaching others in the subject. A special thank-you is extended to all the staff in the I.C.U at the C.K.H.A. The tremendous care given to our father and the compassion shown to us will not be forgotten. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held at Evangel Community Church 76 Sandys Street Chatham on Monday January 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment at Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg. Memorial donations to honour Wilson’s life can be made to the Evangel Community Church Building Fund or to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Intensive Care Unit and would be appreciated by the family.
