HOOPER, George Carmon, A resident of Ridgetown, died on Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Village Rest Home, at the age of 86.Born in Camden Township to the late Russell & Nellie (Kelly) Hooper. Beloved husband of Doris (Stewart) for 62 years. Loving father to Gerald and Russel (Sue), all of Ridgetown. George will be missed by grandchildren Jennifer & John Nixon, Jeff & Daizy Hooper, Melanie Hooper & Brian Daniels, Jackie & Keith Pazitka, Jill Caryon and Emma Hooper. Also missed by great grandchildren Bayley and Selina Hooper, and James and Georgia Nixon. Predeceased by brother Harvey Hooper. George was known to many as “Shorty”. George was an entrepreneur who built and owned both Hooper’s Tire and Auto Services Ltd and Hooper’s Car Wash for 30 years. He also had a passion for farming. George owned and operated a viable farm for over 25 years. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main St. East, Ridgetown, on Sunday, January 25, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 26, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. from the Funeral Home, with Rev. Judith Fayter officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Donations in memory of George to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation are welcomed and appreciated by the family.
