Labute: James J. “Jim” A resident of Chatham, died suddenly on Thursday January 29, 2009 at the age of 80. Born in Chatham, son of the late Peter & Madelene (Stevens) LaBute. Beloved husband of Norma J. (Deneau) Labute. Loving father of Janice & James Sales of Merlin, Dale & Debbie Labute of Morpeth, Brenda & Bert Van Middelkoop of Pardoville, Mary-Jo & Larry Herre of Blenheim, Peter Labute of Dover Township, Patti Gillett of Woodstock, Barbara & Manuel Da Costa of Puce, Carol & Pat Roy of Woodstock, Anne & Joel Pinsonneault of Chatham, John & Sally Labute of Sarnia, and late infant daughter Linda Labute. Grandfather of 21 and great grandfather of 8. Predeceased by an infant brother Francis LaBute. James was a former employee of Chatham Home Equipment, and former owner & operator of James Labute Construction Ltd. He was a member of St. Ursula’s Catholic Church and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Council 9551. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday & Sunday 2:00-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers at the Funeral Home on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. 4th Degree Knights of Columbus will stand guard at the Funeral Home on Sunday evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ursula’s Catholic Church, 205 Tweedsmuir Avenue West, on Monday February 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.
