LeBlanc: Romeo Normand A resident of Chatham, Romeo LeBlanc died at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Thursday January 29, 2009 after a brief illness. Born in Botsford Portage, New Brunswick on June 3, 1949 son of the late Maurille & Irene (Brine) LeBlanc. Beloved husband of Alice (Lennon) LeBlanc. Loving father of Donald LeBlanc, and Paul LeBlanc and his wife Lea Ann, all of Chatham. Cherished grandfather of Amber and Leon LeBlanc, Randy Labadie, Courtney McLean, and Justin McLean. Proud great grandfather of Izara Adams-McLean. Dear brother of Roy (Donna) of Washago; Gerald of Toronto; Ronald (Ilona) of Toronto; Normand of Cap Pele, N.B.; Diane Douse (Lou) of Vernon River, P.E.I.; Murielle LeBlanc of Toronto, Norma Mann (John) of Scarborough; Rose Fougere (Johnny) of Moncton, N.B.; and Catherine LeBlanc (Wayne) of St. John, N.B. Romeo worked at Motor Wheel in Chatham until its closure in 1991, and for the Workers Health & Safety Centre as a field rep He was a Legion Member, member of Kent Cloverleaf Conservation Club, Moose Lodge, and Countryview Golf Course. Romeo was an avid golfer, and enjoyed many days with his best buddies Steven Weston and Paul Bourque, especially on the greens in Clair, Michigan, and Santo Domingo, D.R. He will be dearly missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, and by all his many friends in the CAW and Labour Movement. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday February 3, 2009 from 2:00-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 180 Wellington Street West on Wednesday February 4, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date.
