Obituary of Henry Neutens

NEUTENS: Henry Maurice. A resident of Ridgetown, Henry Neutens passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness with dementia at the Village, Ridgetown on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the age of 70. Born in Ridgetown, son of Maurice Neutens of Ridgetown and the late Mary Neutens (1992). Beloved husband of Peggy (Eadinger) Neutens for 46 years. Dear father of daughter Mary Margaret (Meg) and husband Fraser Hetherington of Kilworth and their children Benjamin and Grace; son Jonathan Neutens and his wife Kimberley of Ancaster and their children Matthew, Ethan, Rebecca, and Ronan; and son Michael Neutens of London, England. Brother of Eleonora and Jake Mieras of Chatham, and Dr. James (Jim) and Mary Neutens of Knoxville, Tennessee. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Henry was the President of Kent County Fertilizers for many years and served as the President of the Fertilizer Institute of Ontario (1980-81), President of the Canadian Fertilizer Institute (1996-97), and was a Past-President of the Kiwanis Club of Ridgetown. He coached Minor Hockey for 25 years and served as a Trustee on the Kent County Roman Catholic Separate School Board for a number of years. Henry was also a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Ridgetown. The Neutens Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home,76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Ridgetown on Monday, February 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Michael's Cemetery, Howard Township.
