Obituary of Mabel Lusk

LUSK: Mabel Margaret (nee Burke), a resident of Chatham and formerly of Dover Township, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Rankin Lusk (1979). Loving mother of Peggy DeLaet (Bob) of Erieau, Barbara Boyle (Bev) of Blenheim, Clifford Lusk (Dorathy) of Dover Township and Ruth Vassallo and her friend Gary of Huntsville. Proud grandmother and great-grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Survived by her brothers Donald Burke (Rita) and Richard Burke, both of Chatham. Also survived by her sister-in-law Arleen Burke of Dover Township. Predeceased by her brother Carson Burke, her sister Lyla Conroy, her sister-in-law Birdie Burke and her son-in-law Joe Vassallo. Missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Mabel was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 28 Ladies Auxillary. Friends may call at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St Clair St, Chatham, on Sunday and Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Legion Service Monday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Jim Kettle officiating. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery. Donations made to Grace Congregational Christian Church or the R.C.L. Branch 28 would be appreciated by the family.
