Okubo: Frank, Fusayuki A resident of Chatham and formerly of Windsor, Frank Okubo passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the age of 75 years. Born in Ruskin,British Columbia, son of the late Fusansuke and Kii Okubo. Loving husband of 48 years to Rose Okubo. Dear father to Valerie-An Madill (John) of Toronto, Tammie Okubo of Chatham. Dear brother to Marion Izawa (Mits) of Chatham, Mary Okubo of Toronto, Helen Miyagawa of Michigan, Charlie Okubo (Rumi) of Calgary, Case Okubo (Dorothy) of Miami. Dear brother-in -law to Minnie Nishizaki, Teddy Takahashi (Shirley) and Florence Takahashi. Survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Frank will also be dearly missed by his cats Spanky, Nix and Dot. Predeceased by his sister Amaiko and his brother’s-in-law John Miyagawa and Roy Nishizaki. Frank was a Licensed Mechanic and a former employee of Rose City Ford Windsor before retiring in Chatham. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday March 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Jim Izawa officiating. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Memorial donations to honour Frank’s life can be me made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Foundation of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Oncology Department or the VHA Homecare and would be appreciated by the family.
