Obituary of Romeo Marentette

A resident of Chatham, and formerly of Pain Court, Romeo Marentette passed away in Chatham on March 13, 2009 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of the late Maria Marentette (2002). Loving father of Suzanne Dow (Bill) of Chatham, Ray Marentette (Elaine) of Amherstburg, Edmond Marentette (Donna) of Chatham, Yvon Marentette (Billy-Jo Humphrey) of Chatham and Jean-Paul Marentette (Alice) of London. Proud grandfather of Jennifer Klein (Dan), Mike Dow, David Dow, Stephen Marentette (Jennifer), Deanna Marentette, Alyssa Marentette and Marysa Marentette. Great-grandfather of Mya Marentette and Patrick Klein. Romeo was the son of Ulysse and Antoinette Marentette. He loved to play cards at Le-Club-de-L’Amitié de Pain Court and was an avid sports fan, loving both baseball and hockey. Romeo also enjoyed volunteering at the Chatham Retirement Resort. Friends may call at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham, on Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 52 Croyden St., Chatham on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Bombardier celebrant. Cremation to take place with private burial at a later date. Donations made on behalf of Romeo to The Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
