Obituary of Joseph Furtado Carreiro

Carreiro: Joseph Furtado. A resident of Chatham, Joseph Carreiro passed away at his residence with his family by his side on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the age of 70. Born in Vila Franca do Campo, São Miguel, Açores son of the late Manuel and Maria Eugenio. Loving husband of 43 years to Alda Carreiro (nee de Sousa). Dear father to Alda Maria, Joe (Jennifer), Linda (Jason), Nelinha (Eric), Matthew (Stephanie) all of Chatham. Proud grandfather to Kristina, Khristyan, Meaghan, Brieanne, Stephanie, Mackenzie, Jason and Joshua. Brother to John Eugenio and Maria Couto. Predeceased by his brothers Francisco and Arthur. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Parish prayers to be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church 145 Victoria Ave. Chatham on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 10 a.m. Fr. Daniel Bombardier celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Memorial donations to honour Joseph’s life can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and would be appreciated by the family.
