Holdaway: George E. "Jack The Bear". A resident of Blenheim, George Edward Holdaway died at his home on Sunday March 22, 2009 at the age of 56. Born in Chatham, son of the late Kenneth J. and Marguerite J. (Walker) Holdaway. Dear brother of Dianne and her husband Bob Fleming of Leamington and Jane and her husband Jack Osborne of Erieau. Also surviving are 2 nephews Malcolm Fleming and his wife Kristen of Leamington and Rod Butler and his wife Diane of R.R. # 1 Blenheim. George was a great uncle of Gage, Avery and Griffin. He was a long time associate of the family business, Holdaway Roofing, having started his career with them at the age of 16. He was a member of the Blenheim Legion Branch 185. The Holdaway Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Tuesday 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Wednesday March 25, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Wm. Terris of Blenheim Baptist Church officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations to Kennesserie Camp or the charity of choice appreciated.
