Obituary of Muriel Brodie

BRODIE: Muriel Margaret (Stewart), A life-long resident of Chatham, Muriel died on Friday, March 27, 2009, at Meadow Park Nursing Home, at the age of 94. Born in Chatham Township to the late Ernest & Beatrice (Vince) Stewart. Beloved wife of 63 years of the late Douglas Brodie (1998). Loving mother of Donald & Joan Brodie of Brucefield, Joanne & Murray Campbell of Chatham, Robert & Debbie Brodie of Blenheim, and Ralph & Phyllis Brodie of Chatham. Muriel will be missed by her 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brothers and sisters Verna Irving Conliffe, Stanley Stewart, Harry Stewart, Beatrice Craven, and Howard Stewart. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Muriel was a member of French’s United Church and a life member of the U.C.W. of the church. She worked at the Anniversary Shop and later for Taylor Grain at Arkwood for many years. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Monday, March 30, 2009, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. from the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Arnold Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Muriel to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Charity of One’s Choice are welcomed and appreciated by the family.
