Kelly: William, a resident of R.R. #1, Dover Center. William (Bill) Kelly passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 31, 2009 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham at the age of 84. Born in Mersea Township son of the late Cyrus Garfield & Cora Mae (Handy) Kelly. Beloved husband of Phyllis (Cheadle) Kelly for 60 years. Dear father of Michael Kelly, Chatham and Maureen & Brian DeBacker, Chatham. Grandfather of Robin & Andrew Gowers; Shannon DeBacker & Glen Priestley; and Kristen & Jeff Pillon. Great Grandfather of Jessica, Jordan and Cameron. Brother of the late Jean Moore, Shirley Baker, Jack Calhoun, Earl Calhoun and Garfield Kelly. Bill was a member of Branch 28 Royal Canadian Legion and served overseas during WW II with Squadron 411 of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was a Field Officer for 25 years with the Department of Veteran Affairs, a long time member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, a member of the Kent Seniors Golf & Country Club and the Kent Seniors Bowling League. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Friday April 3, 2009 from 2:00-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kristen Oliver officiating. Cremation with Inurnment at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Bill to the St. Paul’s Anglican Church Memorial Fund or the Ontario Heart & stroke Foundation appreciated.
