McKNIGHT: Bessie A resident of Chatham, Bessie Jean McKnight died peacefully at Meadowpark Nursing Home, Chatham on Friday April 3, 2009 at the age of 85. Born in Sombra Township on July 18, 1923, daughter of the late William & Florence Agnes (McArthur) McGee. Beloved wife of the late C.H. “Ken” McKnight (1987). Loving mother of Linda & Doug Woodman of Chatham, Betty & Alan Knowles of Wallaceburg, and Anne & Ron Huckleberry of Kitchener. Cherished grandmother of Janice Robertson, Brian Woodman, Dean Emery, David Emery, Ronald Brodrecht, Jennifer Buitenhuis. Great Grandmother of Molly and Cooper Buitenhuis. Sister of the late Jack McGee, Bob McGee, and Lila Whittington-Brown. Bessie was a founding member of Chatham-Kent Art Association. She was active for many years in UCW, CCW, Merry Mates Couples Club, and Maple City Seniors Centre. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday 3:00-5:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul’s Congregational Church, 450 Park Avenue West, Chatham on Monday April 6, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Marg Moriyama and Pastor Andrew Hawkins officiating. Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery. Donations to Alzheimer’s Society or St. Paul’s Congregational Church appreciated.
