Obituary of Beatrice M Essery

Essery, Beatrice Marguerite, a resident of Ridgetown. Bea Essery died peacefully on Thursday April 2, 2009 at the Village Long Term Care Facilitiy, Ridgetown at the age of 90. Born in Huron County daughter of the late William Eugene Harris & Estelle Beatrice (Neil) Essery. Dear sister of Helen & Edward Roberts, Exeter; Mary Margaret Passmore, Owen Sound, and the late Donald Essery. Also survived by 8 nieces and nephews. Bea has been a world traveller for many years. She was a graduate of Victoria Hospital London School of Nursing (1939-1942) and the University of Western Ontario in Public Health Nursing (1954-1955). She was posted to the Kent County Health Unit in 1955 and retired in 1983 after 28 years as a Public Health Nurse for a total of 41 years in nursing. Bea served in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps. (1945-1946) as a Lieutenant Nursing Sister, then in the Department of Veterans Affairs in Vancouver, Montreal & London (1946-1951). She also worked 1 and ½ years in the Republic of Honduras, Central America with the United Fruit Company Hospital (1951-1952). Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 76 Main St.,E., Ridgetown on Sunday April 5, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. A Graveside Service of Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday April 6, 2009 at the Exeter Cemetery.
