Obituary of Gene Douglas Gutteridge

GUTTERIDGE: Gene Douglas ‘Old Cat’, a resident of Chatham, Gene Gutteridge died on Monday, April 20, 2009, at the Park Street Place Nursing Home in Dresden, at the age of 78. Born on Pelee Island to the late Richard & Edna (Gow) Gutteridge. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (Warwick) Gutteridge (1997). Dear father of Mark Gutteridge of Sarnia, the late Valarie Gutteridge (2004), Doug & Marilyn Gutteridge of Chatham, Michelle & David Coll of Wallaceburg, the late Lynn Gutteridge (1979), the late Richard Gutteridge (2004), Kirsten & David Durdle of Mitchell’s Bay, and Craig & Lauree Gutteridge of Chatham. Gene will be missed by his grandchildren Robert, Christopher, Cory, Carolyn, Melanie, Melisa, Ryan, Blake, Krista, and Amy, and great grandchildren Braden, Jordyn, Evan, Cole, Selina, and Elijah. Gene loved horses and was a Charter Club Member of the Dresden Raceway. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham, on Friday, April 24, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A private graveside service will take place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
