OAKES: Robin Christen. A resident of R.R.#1 Ridgetown, Robin Oakes passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at the age of 45. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Donald and Evelyn (Johnson) Wightman. Beloved wife of Bill Travnicek for 10 years. Dear mother of Robert Wightman of Blenheim, Christina Oakes of Fort McMurray, and step-mother of John Travnicek of Blenheim, James Travnicek of Highgate, and Monica Travnicek of Highgate. Grandmother of Ayden Delay. Sister of Ethel and George Evans of Ridgetown, Charles Gownlock of Toronto, Wendy and Clifford Lodge of Bothwell, Vickie and Joe Cottrell of Calgary, Joanne and Rob VanAlphen of Blenheim, Rick and Joanne Wightman of Blenheim, Penny and Rick Croteau of Chatham, Tony and Sherry Wightman of Blenheim, and Robert Wightman of St. Catharines. Sister-in-law of Carolyn and Dave Lucio of Highgate, Nancy Travnicek of Muirkirk, and Donna and Richard Sheridan of Strathroy. Daughter-in-law of Shirley Travnicek of Muirkirk and the late Stan Travnicek. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Friday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held from the Funeral Home on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ken Powell of Glad Tidings Community Church officiating. Cremation with interment in Morpeth Cemetery. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
