Obituary of Lily Chambers

CHAMBERS: Lily Catherine, A resident of Chatham, Lily Chambers passed away at home with family by her side on Sunday, May 10, 2009 at the age of 80. Beloved wife of 62 years to Robert “Bob” Gordon Chambers. Loving mother of Robert Gordon Chambers Jr. and his wife Dale, Bonnie Lou Mallen and her husband David, Bryan Kenneth Chambers, Catherine Lynn Chambers and special son Terry Torrance. Proud grandmother and great-grandmother of 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Survived by her brothers and sisters Clark Pepper, Ina Labadie, Ada Mitchell and her husband Bill, Grace Dobson and her husband Norm, Reta Peters and her husband Steve, Bob Pepper and his wife Glenna, Bert Pepper and his wife Andrea. Predeceased by her brothers Alfred and Donald Pepper, and her sister Dorothy Wilson. Family will receive friends at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham, on Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 1:30 p.m., from the funeral home, with Rev. John Giurin officiating. Interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Donations made to the Cancer Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or St. James Presbyterian Church would be appreciated by the family.
