Obituary of Donna J. McAuley

McAULEY (PHAIR): Donna June (nee Martin)- A resident of Chatham, Donna McAuley passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at the age of 77. Beloved wife of Grant McAuley. Predeceased by husbands Don Schamahorn and Frank Phair. Donna was born to the late Ethridge and Gertrude Martin. Loving mother of Kim McLain and her husband Kent, Lee Ann Southgate and her husband John, Susan Lowther and her husband Mike and Jeff Schamahorn all of Chatham. Proud grandmother of Josh McLain and his fiancé Laura McMahill, Tara McLain, Amy Lowther and her fiancé Michael Clark, Jill Lowther, Laura Lowther, Amanda Schamahorn and Jenna Schamahorn. Donna was a longtime local businesswoman with many affiliations in the city. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, a longtime member of Zonta, the director of the Sweet Adelines, founder of Block Parents, a member of the Chatham Concert Band and a volunteer for the Heart Foundation. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Michael Maroney officiating. Cremation to follow.
