Obituary of J. Murray Campbell

CAMPBELL: J. Murray. A resident of Ridgetown and formerly of Howard Twsp., John Murray Campbell passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Thursday May 28, 2009 at the age of 79 years. Born in Harwich Twsp., son of the late Lorne and Mary Elma (Downie) Campbell. Beloved husband of Norma M. (Dickson) Campbell. Dear father of A. Bruce and Chris Campbell of Chatham, Kenneth M and Linda Campbell of Chatham, Joanne M. and William Crowley of Morinville, Alberta and the late Edwin Campbell (1996). Also surviving is a daughter-in-law Marie E. Alliet of R. R. # 4 Thamesville. Proud Grandfather of 15 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. Brother of Marjorie & Ken MacDougall of Dartmouth N.S., Gordon & Irene Campbell of Harwich Twsp., Donna & Ward Uffelman of Kitchener and the late Malcolm (Mac) Campbell (2004). Also surviving is a sister-in-law Ruth Campbell of Harwich Twsp. Murray farmed in Howard Twsp. until his retirement. He was a very dedicated member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Ridgetown having served for many years as an Elder. He was a member of the Choir for many years and was a valued member of the Church’s Male Quartet. The Campbell Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Monday June 1, 2009 from 2:00-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Tuesday June 2, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Doug Rowley and Rev. Janet Anstead of the Christian Church officiating. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown.
