Obituary of Margaret Sifton

SIFTON: Margaret J. A resident of Ridgetown, and formerly of Palmyra, Margaret J. (Houston) Sifton passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at the Village Retirement Residence on Friday May 29, 2009 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of William R. (Bill) Sifton. Dearly loved mother of Don & Katie Sifton, Jim & Anne Sifton, and Bonnie & Steve Walsh. Special grandmother to Melanie Sifton (Ben Willis), Rob Sifton (Leah Scott), Scott Sifton (Lauren Bartholomew), Heather & Strahan McCarten, Michael & Ramona Walsh, and Erin Walsh (Tom Hughes). Proud great grandmother of Joshua, Lara, and Maggie. Also survived by her sisters Ruth & Ross Button and Margery & Norm McMullan, and brothers Andrew & Eleanor Houston, and Robert & Marilyn Houston. Predeceased by her brother John (Betty) Houston. Marg was a longtime and faithful member of the ACW of Church of the Advent, Ridgetown. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Friday June 5, 2009 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home with The Rev. Stephen Demitroff officiating. Private family interment of cremated remains in Trinity Cemetery, Howard Township.
