de Jong: Adriaan, a resident of Chatham. Adriaan de Jong passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the Chatham Retirement Resort, Chatham at the age of 87. Born in Sprang Capelle, the Netherlands, son of the late Pieter & Willempje (Zujderveld) de Jong. Beloved husband of the late Jacoba (Spruijt) de Jong (March 16, 2004). Dear father of Adrie & Jack Huisman, Campbellville, ON.; Willie & Dave Koning, London; Joanne & Dan Loan, Port Coquitlam, B.C.; Pete & Shirlie de Jong, Chatham; Ann & Bernie Louwerse, Chatham; Judy & Mark Bechard, Dover Centre; and Tony & Durene de Jong, London. Survived by 28 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. Also survived by 2 brothers; 3 sisters, all in the Netherlands and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 2 sisters & 2 brothers. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Friday June 5, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Evangel Community Church, Sandy St., Chatham with Pastor Bill Pipke officiating.
