Obituary of Stan Wild

WILD: Stan Peacefully on June 4th at Chatham Kent Health Alliance in his 86th year. Stan is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marilyn (Neil) Wild, children Janet Gawne (Robert) of Parkhill, David Wild (Jayne) of Sombra, Rich Wild (Mary) and Kathryn Robbins (Scott) of Chatham, grandchildren Deborah Cleminson (Mike Behnke) of Lansing, Michigan, David Widdis of London, Erin and Jennifer Wild of Chatham, Mike Fitzpatrick of London and Sarah Robbins of Chatham, and great-grandsons Joseph and Cameron Cleminson. Also survived by sisters Barbara Wills (Bud) of Glencoe and Beth Kieffer of Port Colborne and brother Robert Wild (Phyllis) of Huntsville and brothers-in-law David Birchmore of Brights Grove and Larry Monkhouse of St Thomas and sister-in-law Garlene Bowen of Wallaceburg. Predeceased by parents John and Annie (Gurr) Wild, brothers James Wild (Rosalie) and Alec Wild and sisters Molly Birchmore and Anne Monkhouse. Stan served during World War II with Goose Squadron #408, RCAF. Stan was a Senior Certified Engineering Technician, OACETT employed with Union Gas, Chatham and retired since 1984. He was a Charter Member of Sprucedale United Church and served on the Building Committee of the original church. He was a former Secretary Treasurer of the Craford Cemetery Board of Trustees, former member of the Kent Branch, Ontario Genealogical Society. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2009 from 2-4pm and 7-9 pm at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St Clair St, Chatham. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 1:30 pm at the McKinlay Funeral Home. Donations to Sprucedale United Church Building Fund would be appreciated.
