Obituary of Cory Robert Schives

Schives: Cory Robert. A resident of Blenheim, Cory Schives passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009 at the London Health Sciences Centre, Children’s Hospital at the age of 17. Born in Chatham, beloved son of Sandy Caron and Ron Russell of Blenheim and Scott Schives and Lisa Turgeron of Chatham. Dear brother of Jeff of Blenheim, Jenny of Mount Albert, Julie and Jaleesa of Blenheim. Cherished grandson of Maurice and Irene Caron of Blenheim, Bob and Jean Schives of R.R.#2, Merlin, and Ernie and Eleanor Russell of Charing Cross. Cory loved anything to do with racing and was a diehard Nascar fan. His favourite driver was #48. He was a best friend to Shawn Jones and worked with him as a member of his pit crew at South Buxton Raceway where he was a regular. He was also a big Detroit Red Wings fan. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim for visitation on Thursday from 2:00-4:30 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Bill Terris of Blenheim Baptist Church officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
