Obituary of Mary Kathryn Young

Young: Kathryn (nee Ryan) A resident of Chatham, Mary Kathryn Young passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Chatham Campus on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the age of 69. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Vincent and Eileen (Kelly) Ryan. Beloved wife of the late Donald Young (2004). Dear mother of Todd and Jennifer Young, Scott and Cathy Young. Proud grandmother to Michael, Mackenzie, Allison, Erin and Ryan. Dear sister to William and Ruth Ann Ryan, Judy and Bernie Myers, Ann and Gary Wright, and Margaret O’Phee, all of Chatham. Kathryn will be remembered for the many volunteer hours dedicated to C.H.A.P.S., the Canadian Cancer Society and St. Andrews Residence. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home 459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 24. 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Heather Scott officiating. Cremation has taken place with interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations to honour Kathryn’s life can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be appreciated by the family.
