Obituary of Winnie Gates

GATES: Winnifred ‘Winnie’ Mary (nee Ash) A resident of Chatham, Winnie Gates died on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance, at the age of 85. Born in Chatham to the late Alexander & Gertrude (Williams) Ash. Beloved wife of the late J. Ronald Gates (1982). Loving mother of Nancy & Charlie Garneau of Elmira and Carol & Harvey Bondy of Chatham. Winnie will be remembered by her grandchildren John Garneau, Jacqueline Garneau, Michelle Bondy, and David Bondy; all at home. She is survived by her sister Marie O’Hara of Chatham and predeceased by sister Mavis Clingersmith and brothers in-law Orval Clingersmith and Red O’Hara. Winnie was an active member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church where she was also a member of the St. Paul’s A.C.W. and Altar Guild. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Friday, June 26, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service to be held on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. from the Funeral Home, with Rev.
