Obituary of Alfreda Annie Muckle

Muckle: Alfreda Annie (nee Garrod). A resident of Copper Terrace and formerly of Harwich Township, Alfreda Muckle passed away at the Copper Terrace Long Term Care Facility, Chatham on Saturday, July 4, 2009 at the age of 88. Born in Howard Township, daughter of the late Alfred and Lillian (nee Sheppy) Garrod. Loving wife of the late Gordon Leonard Muckle (1997). Dear mother of Edna Marie and her husband Bruce Smale, Ruth Pilbeam, Willeta and her husband Norm Biddle, Lillian and her husband Eddy Rota, Beth and her husband Mark Wright and David Muckle. Proud grandmother to Mark, Laura, Barbara, and Ken Pilbeam; Joseph and Robert Rota; Troy Biddle and great-grandmother to Liam Pilbeam. Cousin to Norma Getchel. Sister-in-law to Val Garrod. Predeceased by her granddaughter Victoria Rota; son-in-law Tom Pilbeam and brother Gordon Garrod. Alfreda was a 65-year graduate of Victoria Hospital Nursing School in London. She was a member of the Ridge Community Church and its U.C.W. Alfreda also was a former contributor to the Blenheim Tribune with the “Ridge News”. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. E., Ridgetown on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday July 7, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Wanda Burse officiating. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown. Memorial donations to honour Alfreda’s life can be made to Community Living of Chatham-Kent, Ridge Community Church or the Canadian Cancer Society and would be appreciated by the family.
