Obituary of Gertrude Bradfield

BRADFIELD: Gertrude. A resident of Blenheim and formerly of Erieau and Port Burwell, Gertrude "Gertie" Bradfield passed away at the Blenheim Community Village, Blenheim on Monday, July 6, 2009 at the age of 97. Born in Straffordville, daughter of the late Ruben and Ida (Bain) Tribe. Beloved wife of the late Clayton E. Bradfield (1987). Dear mother of the late Earl Bradfield (1977) and his wife Lois of Southampton. Grandmother of Robert and Carol Bradfield, Susan and Larry Shurrie, Colleen Bradfield, Carmen and Brad Thomas, Janet Bradfield, and Alan Bradfield. Great-grandmother of 12 and great-great-grandmother of 4. Mrs. Bradfield was the last member of her family as she was predeceased by her brothers Harold, Martin, and Edward, and sisters Madeline, Annie, Gladys, Ethel, and Beatrice. Mrs. Bradfield will be fondly remembered by her special friend Lisa Stone. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #243 Ridgetown for a number of years. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Thursday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Alan McIntyre officiating.
