Thorpe: Fredrick David A resident of Chatham. Fred Thorpe died Wednesday July 15, 2009 at Riverview Gardens, Chatham at the age of 89. Born in Chatham Township son of the late William Alexander and Marjorie (Choud) Thorpe. Beloved husband of Bernice (Laprise) Thorpe and the late Geraldine (Derbyshire) Thorpe (1994). Dear father of Paul & Marsha Thorpe, Chatham. Step-father of Jeannine Lachance, Chatham; Pierre Lachance, Merlin; Denise Lachance, London; Pauline & Dennis Grant, London; Jeanne & Jonathan Glass, Belle River; and Giselle & Douglas Grant, Chatham. Brother of Bertha Thorpe, Chatham and the late Bill, Dennis & Neil Thorpe. Brother-in-law of Agnes Thorpe, Chatham. Also survived by 8 Step- grandchildren and one step-great grandchild. Fred was a farmer and a 25 year employee of Chrysler. Cremation has taken place. A Private Family Interment Service will take place at Bethel Cemetery at a later date.
