Obituary of J. Derk TeWinkel

TeWinkel: J. Derk. A resident of R.R.#3 Blenheim, the Lord peacefully took away J. Derk TeWinkel on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at the age of 84. Born in Aalten, The Netherlands, son of the late Derk Jan and Berendina Aleida (Hoftyzer) TeWinkel. Beloved husband of Dina (Lammers) TeWinkel for 56 years. Dear father of John TeWinkel and his wife Janet of R.R.#1 Ridgetown, Hetty TeWinkel of Blenheim, Derk TeWinkel and his wife Lori of R.R.#4 Blenheim, Bernie TeWinkel and his wife Rolien of Tilbury, Gerald TeWinkel and his friend Debbie of Blenheim, Nancy Talbot and her husband Bryan of Burlington, and predeceased by son William TeWinkel (1965). Grandfather of Erin, Paul, Lindsay, and Sean TeWinkel. Brother of Gerrit and Jo TeWinkel, Wim and Rikie TeWinkel, Henk and Sina TeWinkel, Gerhard and Leis TeWinkel all of The Netherlands, and the late Sinie TeWinkel (1999), and Bernard TeWinkel (1937). Also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Mr. TeWinkel was a veteran and served for 3 years in Indonesia with the Dutch Army. He was a member of the Dutch Legion, and the Blenheim Christian Reformed Church. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held from the Blenheim Christian Reformed Church, 286 Chatham St. S., Blenheim on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Frank DeBoer officiating.
