WAKE: Janet. A resident of Ridgetown, Janet Wake passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the age of 69. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Arthur and Ethel (Walker) Dunn. Beloved wife of Gary Wake for 42 years. Dear mother of David Wake and his wife Chantal of Chatham, Susan Mardling and her husband Jeff of Ridgetown, and Erica Wake of Ancaster. Grandmother of Cameron and Joel Mardling. Sister of Eileen Christner of Chatham, and Evelyn and Joe Johns of Chatham. Janet was a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association, and First Presbyterian Church. She was the founder of the Youth Voices of Kent Choir. Janet has previously served as Organist and Choir Director for Victoria Avenue United Church, St. James Presbyterian Church, Erie Street United Church, and Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church. She was a dedicated voice and piano teacher in Chatham-Kent for 50 years. Funeral Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 60 Fifth Street, Chatham on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Maroney officiating. A reception and fellowship will immediately follow at the church. Donations to Doctors Without Borders, or First Presbyterian Church Building Fund would be appreciated.
