Obituary of Mary Catherine Castein

Castein: Mary Catherine (nee Rogers) A resident of Chatham, Mary Castein passed away at home, peacefully with her family by her side, on Wednesday August 5, 2009 at the age of 79. Born in London, England; daughter of the late Cecil and Mary Rogers. Beloved wife of 60 years to Albert Castein. Dear mother to Julie and Brian Sharp, Mike and Donna Castein, Susan Crow and Stephen Bye, Robert Castein and his life partner Paul Tetrault, Ruth and Dave Simmons. Proud grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mary will also be dearly missed by her brothers in England- Bob Rogers, David Rogers, Charlie and Jenny Rogers. Mary is pre-deceased by her brother and sister -in-law in England- John and Eva Castein. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home-459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Saturday, August 8, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. At Mary's request, their will be no Funeral service. Memorial donations to honour Mary's life can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be appreciated by the family.
