Obituary of John Keith Gemmell

Gemmell: John Keith. A resident of Chatham, Keith Gemmell passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Chatham Campus on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the age of 78. Born in Ayr, Ontario. Son of the late John and Mary Gemmell. Loving husband to Delina Gemmell and the late Mary Helen Gemmell(Sheff). Dear father to Jane and Pat Curry, Barbara and John D'Amato. Step-father to Pat Rose, Marilyn Remington, Linda and Charlie Lekavy, Cindy and John Bakker, Garry and Anna Moore. Grandfather to Patrick, Jillian, William, Gina and Matthew as well as many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Dear brother to Kay Boughner and brother-in-law to Mary Gemmell. Predeceased by his sister Marjorie and his brother Bill. Keith was a retired Bookkeeper working for numerous local petroleum companies. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #628. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home-459 St. Clair St. Chatham on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers to be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church, 145 Victoria Ave. Chatham on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Daniel Bombardier celebrant. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to honour Keith's life can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice and would be appreciated by the family.
