Obituary of Marie Rita Twigg

Twigg: Marie Rita, a resident of Chatham. Rita Twigg passed away peacefully a the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Wallaceburg Campus on August 18, 2009 at the age of 83. Born in Chatham daughter of the late Napoleon & Marie (Charbonneau) Tanguay. Beloved wife of the late Albert Twigg (1990). Dear mother of Gloria Wood (Larry), Chatham; Gail Ramsden (Paul), Erie Beach; Mike Twigg (Betsy), Chatham; Anita Barnes (Dwight), Tecumseh; Beth D’Amato (John), Toronto; and Donna Van Boven (Ed), Chatham. Grandmother of 13 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great grandchildren. Sister of Andy Tanguay (Marg) predeceased; Betty Sterling (Jerry) predeceased; Eileen Pickard (Bob) predeceased; Louise Hunter (Don) and the late Harriet Glover, Maurice Tanguay and Ogie Tanguay. Sister-in-law of Vernon Glover, Eleanor Tanguay and Veronica Tanguay. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Rita retired from Community Living Chatham-Kent after many years working with the men and ladies at the Park Avenue Day Program as well as the Community Support Program. She was also a member of the Women’s Catholic League spending many hours volunteering at the gift shop in the St. Joseph’s Hospital, as well as some time at the new Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. Rita was also a member of Branch 28 Legion. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Friday August 21, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. In memory of Rita, donations to Community Living Chatham-Kent would be appreciated.
