Obituary of Thomas Flavious Shadd

SHADD: Thomas Flavious. A resident of Chatham, Thomas Shadd passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on September 15, 2009 at the age of 80. Born in Raleigh Township to his late parents Garrison and Verna Shadd. Beloved partner of Irene Hickson. Loving father of Adrienne Shadd and Alyson Griffith of Toronto. Proud grandfather of Brandon Griffith, Lauren Griffith, Marishana Mabusela and Nathan Griffith all of Toronto. Deeply missed by William and Robert Hickson and their children. Survived by his sisters Edna Giles of Chatham and Lila Moore of Detroit. Predeceased by his brother Ralph Shadd and his sisters Fern Shreve and Doris White. Also missed by many loving nieces and nephews. Thomas was a member of the Seniors Tennis Players in Chatham and of the Friends of Buxton Male Choir. Family to receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Friday from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Douglas Birse officiating. Interment in B.M.E. Cemetery, North Buxton.
