Teeuwen: John Carl. A Resident of Chatham, John Teeuwen died on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance, at the age of 64. Born in Holland to the late Gerard & Elisabeth (Vaessen) Teeuwen. Beloved husband of Joan (Tuckwell) Teeuwen. Loving father of Darren & Sonia Teeuwen and Brandon Teeuwen & Tammy Martin. John will be missed by his grandchildren Austen and Adyson Teeuwen, Reid, Nicholas and Isabella Teeuwen. He will be remembered by his brothers and sisters Trudy & Martin Geensen of Tillsonburg, William Teeuwen of London, Christian & Ann Teeuwen of Calgary, Louis & Jean Teeuwen of Chatham, Elisabeth Seaton of Tillsonburg, and Mike & Mary Teeuwen of Chatham. He will also be missed by his special uncle John Vaessen of London and good family friend Nick Beers of Chatham. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and his extended Tuckwell family. John enjoyed his family and friends and working at the St. Agnes Soup Kitchen. He loved hockey and is remembered for coaching minor hockey for many years. John retired from Navistar and enjoyed woodworking, along with his passion for nature, photography and his dogs. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., on Thursday, September 17, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 18, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Bombardier celebrant. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery. In lieu of flowers John’s family has requested donations to be made to the St. Agnes Soup Kitchen or the Chatham-Kent Outreach for Hunger.
