Van Kessel, Anthony, a resident of Chatham. Anthony Van Kessel went to the Lord on Friday October 2, 2009 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 78. Born in Heeswyk, The Netherlands son of the late Anthony & Maria (Huyber) Van Kessel. Very love husband of Mary (Vanderheyden) Van Kessel. Most loved father of Brian Van Kessel & Angela Ulrich, Calgary; Richard Van Kessel, Saskatoon; Sandra & Charles Blackwell, Calgary; Randy Van Kessel, Chatham and Paul & Linda Van Kessel, London. Proud grandfather of Rachael, Erik & Vanessa Van Kessel; Chelsea & Lydia Blackwell; Benjamin & Nicholas Van Kessel; and Annika & Carlijn Van Kessel. Dear brother of Helen & Mell Burgess, Collingwood; Mary & Steve Chapo, Essex; Terry Trahan, Guelph and the late Joanne Vanbilsen; Lawrence Van Kessel and John Van Kessel. Anthony was involved with the St. Ursula Church Mission, the Food Bank and a member of St. Ursula’s Knights of Columbus. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Sunday October 4, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Knights of Columbus Prayers will be offered Sunday at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ursula’s Catholic Church, Tweedsmuir, West, Chatham on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Richard Saldanha celebrant. Cremation with interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery at a later date.
