Obituary of Philip B. Morrell

Morrell: Philip Buxton After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Phil is finally at peace having passed away at home with family at his side on October 2, 2009 at the age of 77 . A resident of Muirkirk and formerly of Ridgetown, Phil was born in Hatfield Point, New Brunswick, son of the late Gilbert and Regina Morrell. Philip came to Ontario to work with his Uncle Ken. He met Jean, fell in love and stayed, returning yearly to visit the beautiful Maritimes. Phil’s working career was with L.H. Gray and Son just short of 50 years. He was true lover of nature and was happiest when landing the fish big or small. Phil was a devoted husband, son, father, brother and a faithful friend to all who had the privilege to know him. Predeceased by his loving wife, Jean Dorothy (Brundritt) (2007) and his son Eric. Dear father to Patricia (Pat) and Jim McDonnell of Rondeau and Julie and John Bosgoed of Turkey Point. Proud grandfather to Timothy, Jonathon and Erin, Ryan and Shelli; great- grandfather to Erica and Brandon; great-great grandfather to Emma. Family and friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home 76 Main Street E. Ridgetown on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held in the Funeral Home on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 11 a.m. Rev. Paul Shaw officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown. Memorial donations to honour Phil’s life can be made to the charity of your choice and would be appreciated by the family.
