Obituary of Amalie Geroux

Geroux: Amalie “Emily” (nee Stefik) A resident of Chatham, Emily Geroux passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Chatham Campus on Saturday, October 17, 2009 with her family by her side, at the age of 80. Born in Chatham Township on September 3, 1929, daughter of the late Karel and Amalie Stefik. Emily is predeceased by her husband Raymond Geroux (2002). Dear mother to Linda and her husband Bruce Betteridge, Joan and her husband Bill Brisley; step-mother to Patricia Geroux and her late husband Wayne (2002), and Bradley Geroux. Proud grandmother to 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Emily is survived by her brother Charles Stefik and his wife Mildred, George Stefik and his wife Loretta, Denny Stefik and his wife Billie-Gail; and her sister Jarka Pelisek and her husband George. Emily worshiped at, and was an active member of St. Paul’s Congregational Church. Along with her family and the congregation at St. Paul’s, Emily will also be dearly missed by her associates at Janie’s Fashions where she worked for many years and felt like she was family. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St. Chatham, on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Paul’s Congregational Church, 450 Park Ave. W. Chatham from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Margaret Moriyama officiating. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.
