Obituary of William Henry Woortman

WOORTMAN: William Henry – Following a courageous battle with cancer, Bill Woortman, a resident of Chatham, passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Monday, October 26, 2009 at the age of 55. Born in Chatham, son of the late Henry (2001) and Janette (Boon) Woortman (1994). Dear brother of Susan and her husband Dennis Dutry. Special friend to Sally and Harold Burke, Carol Beselaere, Bill Ross and Joe Lauzon. Nephew of Casey and his wife Ida Boon of Etobicoke. Cousin of Harry (Marjorie) Boon of Tilley, New Brunswick, Pat (Eric) Lewis of Uxbridge, Reg (Pam) Boon of Barrie, Roger (Julianna) Boon, of Coquitlam, B.C., Susanne (Brian) Ball of Bolton and John (Janice) Boon of Whitby. Bill was employed with the Lambton-Kent District School Board for the last 35 years in various capacities, most recently as Maintenance Coordinator. At Bill’s request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and a Private Graveside ceremony will take place at a later date at the Merlin Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Chatham-Kent branch of the OSPCA or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
