SMITH: Lillian Rose. A lifelong resident of Chatham, Lillian Smith died peacefully surrounded by her family at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Sunday November 29, 2009. Born in Chatham, 83 years ago, daughter of the late Leonard William and Harriet (Robinson) Field. Beloved wife of the late Murray Smith (1956). Loving mother of Sandra Buzwah of Chatham, Brian Smith & Vaughn of Chatham, Kathie Stoneham & Dave of Shelburne, and Ron Smith & Nancy of London. Cherished grandmother of Nick Buzwah, Carrie-Ann Green (Jason), BrieLynn Dudgeon (Jeff), Bev Williams (Steve Pring), Nikki Williams, Liz Williams (Brandon Fletcher), Brandice Smith (Howie Howard), Steve De Haan (Cindy), Robert Smith (Kelly Dunlop), and the late Tanya Williams. Proud great grandmother of 15. Dear sister of William “Bill” Field (Fran Wellington) of Petrolia, and the late Connie Laprise. Sister-in-law of Charles Laprise of Chatham, and the late Florence Field. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Lillian worked for many years as secretary at Queen Mary School, and later Queen Elizabeth School in Chatham. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Wednesday December 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Paul Millward of Christ Church (Anglican) officiating. Interment to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
