McCARTHY: Janet. A resident of Scarborough and formerly of Shrewsbury, Janet McCarthy passed away at Scarborough General Hospital on Monday, December 14, 2009 at the age of 89. Born in Shrewsbury, daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Griffith) Lewis. Beloved wife of the late Andrew Thompson and the late George McCarthy. Dear mother of Gail Durham of Scarborough, Joseph Thompson and his wife Ingrid of Oshawa, and Chris Thompson of Kamloops, B.C. Grandmother of Andrea Thompson, Jessica Thompson, Leisa Davie (Ryan), Debra Thompson (Neil Gibb), and Jonathan Thompson. Great-grandmother of Addison Rose Davie. Sister of Lorraine and Wilfred Olbey of Chicago, and the late Oswald Lewis, Delores Collins, and Fred Lewis. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Shrewsbury Community Cemetery.
