Obituary of Kathleen Guyitt

GUYITT: Kathleen Estelle (nee Brien). After a lengthy battle with dementia, Kathleen passed away on January 8, 2010. Born in Howard Township April 10, 1920 to the late Charles A and Annie (Fenningsdorf) Brien. Loving wife of the late Ivan Guyitt (1995). Dear mother to Nancy Cameron (Jim), Chuck Guyitt (Brenda) and Ruth Laforet (Jim). Kathleen will also be dearly missed by her brother Bill Brien (Helen) and sister-in-law Jeanne Guyitt. Proud grandmother to Chad Guyitt (Erin), Ryan Pretty (Tiina), Derek Pretty (Jane), Ian Cameron (Dionne), Scott Cameron (Penny), and Nancy Cameron (Paul Rankin). Loving great grandmother to Kye, Kaylin, and Chace Pretty; Erica and Owen Cameron and Liam Rankin. Kathleen was looking forward to the arrival of two more great grandchildren this spring. Dear Aunt to a large number of nieces and nephews including Stan Brien, Robert Ranahan and Gail Peters. Kathleen was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Jim Ranahan and beloved niece Carol Lozinski. Kathleen was a member of Erie Street United Church in Ridgetown her entire life. She graduated from Agar Business College and enjoyed her work as a secretary and bookkeeper for many years.Kathleen was a life member of Erie Street U.C.W., Eastern Star and the Women's Institute.The Family would like to thank the staff at The Village for their many kindnesses to our mother and grandmother.Family and friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. East, Ridgetown on Sunday January 10, 2010 from 2:00-4:30 & 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. An Eastern Star Memorial Service will be conducted on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Al McIntyre officiating. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown. Memorial donations to honour Kay's life can be made to The Village Nursing Home or to Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
