Obituary of Dan Longbottom

LONGBOTTOM: George Daniel (Dan). A resident of Chatham, Dan Longbottom passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, at the age of 65. After a hard struggle with cancer, Dan can now rest in the glory of his Maker. Born in Chatham, to the late Herbert & Agnes (Kelly) Longbottom. Beloved husband of Judy (Kivell) Longbottom. Loving father of Barbara & Bo Want of Chatham, Darlene & Greg Reger of Washington, Deb & Keir Hammer of Edmonton, and the late Cindy Longbottom. Dan will be missed by his 8 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is remembered by his sisters Mary Filby, Ruth McTavish, Betty Reynolds, and brothers Don Longbottom and Bob Longbottom. Predeceased by sister Joyce Beausejour and brother Andy Longbottom. Dan was an avid fisherman and sports fan. His love of fishing simply could not match his love for his family, a true family man and a man of faith. He was an active and devoted member of Living Faith Community Church. Family will receive friends at Living Faith Community Church, 530 Victoria Ave, Chatham, on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 from 1:00-2:00p.m. with a Memorial Service to immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Andrew Nelson and Allan Edmonds officiating. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment to follow at a later date.
