Obituary of Robert 'Bob' Herbynchuk

HERBYNCHUK, Robert William (Bob) – It is with heavy hearts but treasured memories that we announce the passing of Bob on Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Bob is now at peace. Bob was a wonderful son, husband, father and friend who demonstrated an unwavering commitment to those he loved. Bob touched people everyday with his thoughtfulness, kindness and wonderful smile. Bob demonstrated the most powerful will to live as he courageously battled ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Deeply loved and sadly missed by his wife Diane (nee Thompson) and their children Jennifer and Geoffrey and daughter-in-law Thanh-Van. Adored by his parents Stephanie Herbynchuk and William Herbynchuk (pre-deceased) and his sisters & brothers-in-law Linda & Miles Lauzon and Susan & Dan Walters. Loved by all members of the Herbynchuk family and all of his nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Also missed by his mother in-law Lois Thompson of St. Catharines, sister in-law Brenda Howard and her husband James of Fort Erie, and brother in-law John Thompson of St. Catharines. Heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Intensive Care Unit and the Progressive Care Unit at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance for all their tender loving care and support over the past year. Visitors will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Thursday, February 4, & Friday, February 5, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Funeral Home, with cremation to follow.
