Obituary of Lavern Watson

WATSON: Lavern (Vern) Arthur It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vern Watson on Friday, February 5, 2010 at the age of 86. Born in Raleigh Township, son of the late Alex & Sadie Watson. Beloved husband for 57 years of Clara (Crow).Loving father of Bill & Gisele Watson of Chatham, Judy & James Case of Chatham, and Terry & Michael Flanagan of Chatham. Proud grandfather of Matthew and Jonathan Watson and Stephen and Terry Case. Vern is survived by his mother in–law Laurentia Crow, and sisters and brothers in-law Ann Watson of Chatham, Mary & Rene Verlinde of Muirkirk, Evelyn & Leroy Gore of Prairie Siding, Sharron & Larry Balfour of Chelmesford and Jack & Andree Crow of Prairie Siding. Predeceased by his brother, James Watson. Vern was a life long Raleigh Township farmer who loved to hunt and fish. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Monday February 8, from 2:00 – 4:30p.m., and 7:00 – 9:00p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Tuesday, February 9, at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society can be made in memory of Vern at the funeral home and are appreciated by the family.
