Obituary of Patricia Smith

SMITH: Patricia Gertrude (Dauphin) A resident of Chatham, Patricia Smith passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2010, at Riverview Gardens, at the age of 83. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late John & Violet (Moffat) Dauphin. Beloved wife of the late Carl Smith (1996). Dear mother of Carol & Bob Tiller of Chatham, Wendy & Rheal Currier of Belleville, Linda & Dave Clarke of Huntsville, April Sansen-Smith of Chatham, Sue Patrick & Jim Hottot of Chatham, Joe & Sadie Smith of St. Thomas, Larry & Brenda Smith of Chatham, Bradley & Rosemary Smith of Chatham, Raymond Smith of Chatham, and Brian & Cathy Smith of Chatham. Proud grandmother of 22 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Patricia will be remembered by her sisters Dorothy Dauphin and Peter of Chatham and Diane Thibert and her husband Don of Chatham. She will be missed by her sisters in-law Pauline Dauphin of Chatham, Marjorie ‘Violet’ Dauphin of Chatham, Selina Dauphin of Blenheim, Judy Davidson of Chatham, and Helen Trottier of Chatham. Predeceased by her brothers Max, Donald, Reginald, Harold, and William Dauphin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Patricia was a strong woman with a friendly disposition. She enjoyed her time spent painting, playing the organ, and hand crafting many special things with her needle point. She was always caring for others in her own kind and considerate way, lighting up any room with her big, warm, quirky smiles.
